Why the UK is the easiest time zone I work with
India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 all year. The UK is on BST (UTC+1) in summer and GMT (UTC+0) in winter, so I am only 4.5 to 5.5 hours ahead of you. That is a very different arrangement from an offshore team on the other side of the planet: your entire working day falls inside mine.

Enterprise mobility app for infrastructure inspection and asset tracking, built offline-first with real-time synchronisation. The kind of field app UK utilities, rail and facilities teams run on rugged iPads.

Contracts, payment and paperwork
- Contractor, not employee. You are engaging an independent business based in India for work performed in India. No UK payroll, no employer National Insurance, no pension enrolment.
- VAT and IR35. My invoices carry no UK VAT. Off-payroll working rules are generally not a consideration for a contractor based and working wholly outside the UK. Please confirm your own position with your accountant.
- Invoices in GBP or USD. Paid by bank transfer, PayPal or Payoneer. Milestone-based for fixed-scope projects, hourly or weekly for ongoing work.
- NDA before we talk details. Send yours, or I can provide one.
- You own the code. On final payment you receive full ownership of the source code and every project asset, and the GitHub repository is transferred to your organisation.
How we work day to day
- Slack for daily communication, Zoom or Google Meet for calls, Jira or Linear for the board. I fit into what your team already uses.
- Live standups in your morning and live reviews in your afternoon, because the hours overlap.
- Your repository, your branching model, your code review. Every change ships as a reviewable pull request.

How much of the UK working day do you cover?
Nearly all of it. India is 4.5 hours ahead of the UK in summer and 5.5 in winter, so a 9 AM London start is my early afternoon and a 5 PM London finish is my evening. Morning standups, afternoon reviews and end-of-day calls all happen live.
Do we need to think about IR35 or VAT?
You are contracting a business based and working entirely outside the UK, so there is no UK payroll or employer National Insurance on your side, and my invoices carry no UK VAT.
